Arkansas families and small businesses have been struggling with inflation and economic uncertainty. When the state announced a $1.2 billion budget surplus this year, some in Little Rock wanted to use it to grow government and increase wasteful spending.

Thankfully, Governor Sarah Sanders had the right answer: Cut taxes for the people of Arkansas.

She called a special session with that goal, and Arkansans won!

The package that passed includes significant income tax cuts that will help ease the sting of inflation for Arkansas families and small businesses. It's another step toward phasing out the income tax altogether—something Arkansans favor by a two-to-one margin. That’s because cutting the state income tax means more good-paying jobs, along with help for small businesses and families.

Later this month, Opportunity Arkansas will gather all the signatures and deliver them to Gov. Sanders’ office in Little Rock to express our sincerest thanks.
